+ sensible | selfless | trustworthy | honest | stealthy | strong-minded | independent | brave | sincere | tenacious +

Tough as nails, headstrong, and take-charge, Drix is not the type to take prisoners. As it is, being a spaniel, she is often taken as a pushover, a fact that deeply angers her. As a leader, she is hardcore, tough, and incredibly strict. She commands her troops with a hard and domineering hand, demonstrating a fierce tenacity. For her, failure is not an option, and she will do everything she can to make sure her convoy returns all men intact. These qualities, coupled with her natural "bullshit detector"-like brain made her a strong leader in Eden, and once bitten and cast out, an even stronger leader. She is tough but fair with no desire to put up with shit no matter WHO it is coming from. A loyal friend once she's warmed up to you, her way of showing affection is a hard punch in the shoulder or a bite to the side. These are usually playful as this appears to be the only way she is able to express herself.

- cold | hairpin trigger temper | blunt | harsh | unapproachable | stubborn | restless | asocial | bitter -
She has no tolerance for shortcomings, and doesn’t hesitate to roughly reprimand her pack members, and additionally seems to enjoy goading them with taunts to increase their drive. Although Drix comes off at first as crass and callous, she is very serious and stoic when not engaged in combat. Because of all her training in Eden and her now estranged family and
 her dedication to her job that she appears to consider herself a soldier first and female second. She's tough and independent that doesn't need anybody's help and prefers to be left alone. She is incredibly defensive when it comes to having feelings that aren't anger the backlash that follows.

History:
Since she was a pup, she has always had problems controlling her temper. There have been times when others have done something to her that wasn't even all that bad, like accidentally bumping into her in a crowded hallway, or looking at her cross-eyed that has set her off. For a while, she was even banned from military combat for beating her opponent until they were near death, causing her to be held back a season. Needless to say, she and Solitaire did not complete training at the same time.
While in Eden, she and her two litter mate brothers were notorious as a gang of bullies bent on kicking around anyone weaker than they were. Around the nursery, the spaniels were often scolded for being unnecessarily rough with their fellow pups  Although her brothers were a bit bigger than she was, it was pretty clear from the beginning that Drix was the ringleader and none of the monkeyshines they got into lacked her paw in the mix somewhere. Unfortunately, her brothers both qualified for bigger jobs thanks to their difference in size and the three were separated as her brothers were accepted into a different weight classification. Without her two brothers around to reign in her attitude, the spaniel became more and more defensive, getting so bad with her bullying, she was often disciplined for lashing out.
Coming from a strong military background where all of her family and her extended relatives are soldiers of the highest order, Drix was quick to fall in step behind her family, walking in their paw prints as a sign of respect and admiration. Unfortunately, her willingness to play the part of a perfect soldier left her vulnerable at the weirdest possible spot: her heart. To this day she does not talk about what happened or why, but she WILL lash out if you push her too far.
Because of her family's background, she was quick to fall in line as best she could, but her temper was always just beneath the skin, waiting to be unleashed on anyone and everyone that got too close or too cocky for her liking. One being held back a season in boot camp, she was quick to refine her ways, forcing her anger to take a backseat to her desire to actually make it to being a soldier. She was still considered a great disgrace by her family for being held back in the first place. She never speaks of her parents as she feels a deep detachment from them.

Once bitten, by one she considered a true friend no less, she was not quick to react positively at first. Very much like Sol, she felt a deep sense of betrayal from Eden and took it out on Solitaire at first.

No matter how it sounds, Drix still possesses a large heart despite her cold exterior. When she meets Ophelia durning training, she is was oddly endeared to her, and in turn becomes more trusting, little by little. It was this softening around the edges that gave Solitaire the impression Ophelia and Drix might have become mates, considering the spaniel does not at all attempt to hide her obvious affinity for females over males.

Relationships
Key:
:bulletpurple: - Family
:skull: - Dead
:bulletwhite: - Neutral
:bulletblue: - Acquaintance :bulletblue::bulletblue: - Friend
:bulletgreen: Good Friend :bulletgreen::bulletgreen: - Best Friend
:bulletorange: - Trust :bulletorange::bulletorange: - Respect/Loyal too
:bulletyellow: - Crush
:heart: - Mate
:bulletpink: - Lust
:bulletred: - Dislike :bulletred::bulletred: - Loathe

:bulletpurple::bulletred::bulletgreen::bulletgreen: Dom (or Dominique. Often called Domino in jest; he takes it all in stride.)
Drix's eldest brother. He was her closest friend prior to their split up during basic training. He's a bit sharper than his brother, but still not on the same level as Drix. The two of them used to share a pretty deep relationship, him being the only male other than Solitaire that didn't completely piss her off. Still, it being Drix, they fought almost constantly. Drix seems to have, for the most part, replaced Dom with Solitaire as Dom and Strev remain in Eden.
:bulletpurple::bulletred::bulletgreen::bulletgreen: Strev (or Strevyo, Russian for "the moron" or "that idiot")
if Solitaire was considered to be a little on the dull side, Strev is the bottom of the totem pole. Between Dom and himself, Drix used to say they didn't have a brain between the two of them (an exaggeration, but only slightly). Despite not being the brightest, he loves Drix very much, using his brute-like strength to knock out anyone in his sister's way. Even though he's a moron, Drix will defend him to the death as she feels she and Dom are the only ones allowed to make fun of him.

:bulletgreen::bulletgreen: Solitaire her closest friend; the two of the were not always very close. Actually, she used to pick on both Ophelia and Sol when they were pups. She was the type to steal milk money from other kids and push them around if they tried any sort of back talk. The two didn’t start to really bond until boot camp. Upon learning his mother was the famous heavy scrapper Enobaria, she began to lighten up a lot around him. Between his cocky nature and her outward bitchiness, the two seemed to be made best friends.
:bulletgreen::bulletgreen: Ophelia another one of her closest friends. They met during training when she was held back. She is the only one who knows about the poodle mix's secret feelings for Solitaire.
:bulletwhite::bulletblue::bulletred: Calcipher for the most part, even though she has only just met him, Calcipher's indifference toward the world around him leaves much to be desired, especially from someone as easy to annoy as Drix. His lack of caring and involvement in his own life grates on her nerves. So long as the two of them don't have any extended interactions, their relationship is workable, but every time they're around each other for too long, she is prone to snapping.

voice speculation

"Son of a bitch!!" snapped the spaniel, taking off at a faster pace. She wasn't terribly fast given her build; she had her lineage to blame for that. But for short bursts, she could gain quite a bit of speed, especially when running downhill. Other, larger breeds with their long, gangily legs tended to have trouble running downhill, prone to tripping over their own stupid feet if they weren't careful. Drix didn't have this problem.

She snarled fiercely, teeth bared in a defiant expression as she gained on her target. The other dog had a good half mile on her, but in looking back, he was surprised to see her gaining on him so quickly. He didn't have time to react before she was down on him, slamming him to the ground with her paws on the side of his head, smashing him into the soft earth below. He yelped in what was probably the least manly way possible, flinching back from her.

"Okay, okay! You caught me, Drix! Let go! It's just a drill!" the larger dog begged. Her snarl only seemed to get worse, her paws digging into his neck, threatening to crush his windpipe. She was beside herself, a light froth coming to her lips as she leaned down more on his throat.

"Drix! Cut it out!" the sargent slammed her in the side, knocking her away from the boxer mix under her grasp. She didn't even flinch, snarl still curled across her face as she panted, eyes slowly coming back into focus. The boxer rubbed his neck, looking for sympathy in what Drix considered to be the most pathetic way possible. He received none from any of them.

"Crazy bitch..." he croaked. She turned her snarl at him, look on her face suggesting if he kept talking, she'd be on him again. The sargent stepped between them, turning a strict yet concerned look on her.

"What were you thinking?"

"You asked me to catch him. I have done as you asked." she said, straightening up as her commanding officer faced her, reminding herself who she was in the presence of. She may have been a pain in the ass at times, but she was still a loyal soldier.

"Catch him, not kill him." the Sargent said, still looking the spaniel over. She made brief eye contact with him before averting her eyes as a sign of respect. "Are you sure you'll be alright on this upcoming mission?"

"Yes sir." she responded without hesitation. "It is not a solo mission, sir. I am certain to pull my own weight."

He nodded slowly, still giving her a cautious look. "Dismissed." he said after a long pause.

:: trivia ::

• has a pretty dark sense of humor and a dry wit. Try not to engage too much unless you share this affinity.
• being newly appointed as pack leader to the starter pack The Dead Dogs, she had found her niché as tough but fair as a leader. Even though being a leader has forced her to be as patient and diplomatic as possible, she can hold her own in a fight, so it's probably best not to approach her with the intention of starting something unless you know you can finish it.
• pack alligence is strictly to The Dead Dogs. She is willing to defend her two right-hand dogs, Sol and Ophelia, to the death if she has to. How long, then, will it take for the poisons of the infection to set in? Is it possible she is already starting to hear voices?
• Unlike Solitaire, Drix has always seen Eden for what it is, but that has more to do with not having quite as cavalier a career as his.
